Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The plane landed following established safety measures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This event is not the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has experienced equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to head back to Washington after suffering a mechanical fault.
