Vinicius Jr Offers Regret to The Madrid Club Fans
The attacker has netted five finishes in 10 La Liga outings this season.
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his conduct when taken off in Sunday's fiery match against Barcelona triumph.
He was substituted in the second half and expressed his annoyance by walking immediately to the dressing room.
Vinicius subsequently came back to the sidelines and, following his side's 2-1 victory, tried to confront Barcelona's opposing player during contentious final whistle scenes.
"Today I want to express regret to all the Madridistas for my behavior when I was substituted in the derby," he posted on social media.
"Similarly to I have previously expressed during this morning's training, I would like to express regret anew to my team-mates, the club, and the president.
"At times fervor gets the better of me because I continuously aim to triumph and support my side. My winning mentality stems from the affection I hold for this institution and all it symbolizes."
He signed for Madrid from his former club in recent years for £38.7m and has scored over a century of strikes in numerous matches.
But his prospects in the La Liga is far from certain with speculation in the past few months indicating that Real would think about permitting the player depart if they obtained a good proposal.
When he was substituted on that day, TV coverage from network Dazn recorded him stating: "Again me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I go, I'm moving on."
In his latest message on X, Vinicius stated: "I promise to keep striving constantly for the good of the club, as I have done since the very beginning."
